« Toute la première activité, c’était à l’occasion du lancement des travaux de construction d’une unité. On devait inaugurer une unité d’eau construite par PRISE à Miabi. Deuxièmement, nous avons sillonné avec les probables investisseurs dans les infrastructures routières et les ponts. », déclare Joachim Kalonji qui ressasse ses premières activités menées en tant que Ministre provincial des infrastructures et travaux publics et routiers.
Joachim Kalonji dit n’avoir pas eu des débuts apaisés. Il se souvient de sa première ronde sur l’ensemble de la province pour évaluer les travaux en cours dans différents territoires. « Nous avons sillonné toute la province. Nous avons été à lukalaba pour évaluer les activités menées par GREC 8. Nous étions à Katanda jusqu’à Kabeya kamuanga. Nous avions eu une réunion avec les responsables de l’OVD les voies qui sont endommagées. », indique-t-il en signalant que d’autres travaux de curage ont déjà commencé dans la ville de Mbujimayi. A l’en croire, les travaux de curage concernent les caniveaux situés à la place Mualusa, à Nkalala wa Ngata et sur l’avenue Odia David.
A savoir ce qui freine le trafic aérien à l’aéroport de Mbujimayi, le ministre des ITPR explique l’état de la piste n’inspire pas confiance aux opérateurs aériens. « Il y a certains opérateurs qui exercent dans le trafic aérien estiment qu’il y a des irrégularités et notre piste d’atterrissage est courte. », argue-t-il en précisant que les travaux de réhabilitation vont bientôt reprendre. Selon lui, les démarches entre la BAD et la République démocratique ont déjà abouti. Pour le moment, la RVA a commencé à colmater certains trous qui se trouvent sur la piste d’atterrissage.
