Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo est plus qu’engagé à réparer les relations Israëlo- Congolaises. Au cours de la conférence de l’American Israël Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), tenue à Washington aux États-Unis d’Amérique ce dimanche 01 mars, il a promis de nommer dans les prochains jours un ambassadeur extraordinaire et plénipotentiaire de la République démocratique du Congo auprès de l’État d’Israël.

« Aussi, après plus de 20 ans sans une représentation au niveau adéquat, je procéderai, dans les prochains jours, à la nomination d’un Ambassadeur Extraordinaire et Plénipotentiaire auprès de l’Etat d’Israël », a promis Félix Tshisekedi.

Après 47 ans des relations nuageuses entre le Congo( Zaïre à l’époque), Félix Tshisekedi a choisi de normaliser les relations diplomatiques avec l’État d’Israël. Relations que le président Joseph Mobutu avait détériorées en soutenant explicitement Égypte au détriment de l’Israël, au cours de son discours prononcé en 1973 à la tribune de l’ONU.

Usant de la rhétorique convaincante, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi a aussi promis la création d’une section économique animée par un personnel de haut niveau, ayant la mission de promouvoir les relations économiques entre les deux Etats.

« Notre ambassade étant à Tel Aviv, je ne trouve aucun inconvénient à ce que la section économique soit installée dans la ville bénie de Jérusalem », a-t-il ajouté, avant de dire tout son soutien au Plan du président Donald Trump en faveur du retour à une paix durable et à la coexistence pacifique entre: Israël et Palestine( Ndlr : en conflit depuis des longues années).
